Keller also led all conference players with three game-winning goals and was a perfect 4-for-4 on penalty kicks this year. He scored a goal in eight of nine conference games and ended the season with a seven game goal scoring streak; amassing seven goals in his team's final two games. He notched two hat-tricks this season and had eight multi-goal games.

Taking home his second straight SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year award is Justin Schmidt, a defender for Webster University. Schmidt, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., was the key of a Gorlok defense that recorded six shutouts in conference play, the second most in the league. The Gorloks tallied 14 total shutouts this season, opening the year with seven straight. Schmidt added one assist this season while manning the backline on a defense that allowed just eight goals.

The 2018 SLIAC Newcomer of the Year is from Greenville University, Juan Jose Herranz. Herranz, a forward from Madrid, Spain, tallied two goals and four assists for eight points during conference play. He ranked third among conference players in assists. With Herranz in the lineup the Panthers increased the season scoring output from last year by nearly 20 goals. He is first Panther to take home the award since 2015.

Mike Siener nabs his 2nd SLIAC Coach of the Year honor after leading the Gorloks to a 14-4-1 overall record and a 6-2-1 record in the SLIAC, earning the second seed in the tournament. Siener and the Gorloks opened the season with seven straight wins, extending the program record non-losing streak to 18 games.
