  • Spalding Sweeps Webster in Game of the Week
    March 21, 2019
    The Spalding baseball team opened their 2019 SLIAC conference schedule with a bang, sweeping a doubleheader from the #6/12 ranked Webster Gorloks, 9-3 and 6-5, Wednesday evening at Derby City Field. This marks the Golden Eagles fourth win this season over a unanimous top-15 team, earning wins over #4 Concordia-Chicago and #15 UW-Whitewater.

    Webster University extended its win streak to four straight games here Wednesday as the 15th-ranked Gorloks rallied to post a 6-4 victory over ninth-ranked UMass-Boston in its fifth game of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational played at Osceola Heritage Park.

    Spalding University and Webster University are the favorites for the 2019 SLIAC baseball season according to the league's coaches. Spalding received eight of ten first-place votes as the favorites in the East Division while Webster captured nine first-place votes as favorites in the West Division.

    Webster University juniors Shane Donovan and Kyler Kent and Spalding University junior Garrett Wilson were named to the Preseason D3Baseball.com All-American Team that was released late Thursday afternoon. On this year's Preseason All-American Team, Donovan and Wilson were tabbed First-Team selections while Kent earned Second-Team honors.

Logan CC) have been rewarded for their outstanding play this summer in the New York Collegiate Baseball League by being named to the 2018 NYCBL All-League Team.
