Blue Jays Baseball Picks Up ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

The successful Westminster baseball season is still being noted, but this time the award comes for their achievements in the classroom. The Blue Jays are recipients of the 2015-16 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, which honors high school and college programs that post a team GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.

The 2016 baseball team recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.08 for the 2015-16 school year and was one of just 34 NCAA Division III teams awarded. They were the lone St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) team awarded.

The baseball team finished the 2016 season with a 28-15 record and made the program's third NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the SLIAC Tournament.
