Eureka College's Clay McConkey, a senior from Fairview, Ill. (Spoon River Valley), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 3-9. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

McConkey, a right-handed pitcher, posted a 1.12 ERA in one appearance last week. He started and recorded the win as the Red Devils defeated MacMurray College 12-2. In 8.0 innings of work, McConkey struck out 11 batters, while allowing only one walk, three hits and one earned run. The win was his sixth of the season.

Eureka College's Nick Eeten, a senior from Eureka, Ill., has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of May 3-9.

Eeten, an outfielder, was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate in two games played last week. He scored four runs, had one double, two RBI, reached base on balls once and was 4-of-5 in stolen base attempts. Eeten reached base in all 10 of his plate appearances last week, as the Red Devils defeated Blackburn College 10-5 and MacMurray College 12-2, to extend their win streak to five games.

Apr 26-May 2 Matt Leefers Greenville Sr Coffeen, Ill./Hillsboro
Greenville College's Matt Leefers, a senior from Coffeen, Ill. (Hillsboro), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 26-May 2. 

Leefers, a right-handed hurler, was 1-1 on the mound in two appearances last week. He started and pitched two complete games, while also posting one shutout. In 14.0 innings of action, he allowed no earned runs, nine hits and struck out 14 total batters.Leefers struck out eight and gave up three hits in a 14-0 victory versus MacMurray College. He then struck out six batters and allowed six hits in a 1-0 loss to Webster University.

Apr 26-May 2 Cody Stevenson Webster Fr Centralia, Ill./Centralia
Webster University's Cody Stevenson, a freshman from Centralia, Ill., has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 26-May 2.

Stevenson, an outfielder, posted a .522 batting average in seven games played last week. He was 12-for-23 at the plate with 12 runs scored, six RBI, four doubles and one triple, while also going 6-of-6 in stolen base attempts.Out of seven games, Stevenson had five multi-hit games last week, including a 3-for-3 performance with one double and three stolen bases in Webster's 5-2 victory over Westminster College. 

The Gorloks went 6-1 last week, with their lone loss an 8-6 defeat at Greenville College. Webster did, however, clinch their fourth consecutive SLIAC regular season title.

Apr 19-25 Will Savage Webster Sr Lisle, Ill./Benet Academy
Webster University's Will Savage, a senior from Lisle, Ill. (Benet Academy), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 19-25. 

Savage, a right-handed pitcher, threw a complete game victory to lead the Gorloks to a 4-1 win versus Washington University-St. Louis. In 9.0 innings of work he allowed six hits, one run and only one walk, while striking out five batters. The win brings his season record to 5-0 overall. 

Webster went 3-0 last week, extending their current win streak to eight games.

Apr 19-25 Stefan Neece Greenville Sr Greenville, Ill./Bond County Community Unit #2
Greenville College's Stefan Neece, a senior from Greenville, Ill. (Bond County Community Unit #2), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 19-25. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

Neece, an infielder, went 5-for-8 at the plate for a .625 batting average in three games played last week. He scored four runs and recorded eight RBI, three home runs and one double, as the Panthers went 2-1 for the week. Neece also reached base on balls six times and had 26 putouts and three assists for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. 

In game one of a double header versus Eureka College, Neece went 2-for-3 with one double, one RBI and one run. In game two he hit 2-for-3 with two home runs, five RBI and two runs scored. Greenville swept the Red Devils 12-7 and 13-6. Neece also added one home run and two RBI in a 7-6 loss to MacMurray College.

Apr 12-18 David Willey Fontbonne Jr Woodson Terrace, Mo./Trinity
Fontbonne University's David Willey, a junior from Woodson Terrace, Mo. (Trinity), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 12-18. 

Willey, a left-handed pitcher, threw his first career no-hitter in a 16-1 defeat over Blackburn College. He struck out four batters and walked only one in the victory. Willey walked the first batter of the game and after the second batter reached base on an error, he retired 20 straight.

Greenville College's David Massengill, a junior from Neoga, Ill., has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 12-18.

Massengill, an outfielder/pitcher, was 10-for-16 at the plate for a .625 batting average in four games played last week. He recorded seven runs, two doubles, one home run and three RBI, while also going 2-of-3 in stolen base attempts. 

Massengill was 5-for-5 with four runs scored, one RBI, one double and one home run in a 9-8 win versus Eureka College. He recorded two hits, including one double and one RBI in the Panthers 6-4 victory versus Westminster College. Massengill also added two hits and one run in an 8-0 shutout versus Westminster.

Apr 5-11 Bryan Stanley Webster Sr Larkin, Ill./Larkin
Webster University's Bryan Stanley, a senior from Larkin, Ill., has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 5-11.

This is the second time this season that he has earned the honor.Stanley, a right-handed pitcher, posted a 3-1 record in four total relief appearances last week. In 8.3 innings on the mound he recorded a 2.16 ERA and 10 strikeouts, while allowing only three hits, four walks and two earned runs.

In a 7-6 victory versus Fontbonne University, Stanley struck out five batters and gave up no hits and no walks in 2.3 innings of work. He also recorded victories after pitching 1.3 innings in the Gorloks 3-2 and 5-2 victories versus Spalding University. In those two games he gave up no hits, one walk and had three strikeouts total. In two of the wins he posted, Stanley entered the game on a bases-loaded situation and pitched out of them.

Westminster College's Matt Mallette, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo. (St. Mary's), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 5-11.

Mallette, an outfielder, went 16-for-28 at the plate for a .571 batting average in six games played last week. He added 12 runs scored, 15 RBI, three doubles, three home runs and one triple.

Mallette hit for the cycle in a 19-3 win versus Blackburn College. He hit a two RBI double in the first inning, a two RBI single in the second inning, a two-run home run in the third inning and finished with a RBI triple in the fifth inning. In game two of the double header versus Blackburn, Mallette hit is team-leading fifth home run to help the Blue Jays to a 5-2 victory.

Spalding University's Jake Wardrip, a junior from Louisville, Ky. (St. Xavier), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 29-April 4.

Wardrip, a left-handed hurler, recorded a shutout last week to help the Golden Eagles go 2-1 versus Greenville College in their three-game conference series. In 7.0 innings on the mound Wardrip recorded six strikeouts and allowed three hits and two walks. After losing the first game of the series 10-6, Spalding won game two of the double header, 2-0. Spalding then posted a 7-3 victory in a nine-inning game versus the Panthers to finish out the series.

Webster University's Victor Valdez, a senior from Wheaton, Ill. (Benet Academy), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 29-April 4.

Valdez, an outfielder, recorded a .625 batting average in five games played last week. He went 10-for-18 at the plate with two doubles, four home runs, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored.

Valdez went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and one home run in the Gorloks 11-5 win at Fontbonne University. His best outing of the week was a 5-for-5 performance with six RBI, four runs scored, two doubles and two home runs as Webster defeated Washington University-St. Louis 18-2. He added two hits, five RBI, three runs and one home run in a 17-1 win versus Washington U. 

Webster posted a 5-0 record last week to extend their win streak to nine games. The Gorloks have also scored 10 or more runs in six of their last seven wins.

Greenville College's Kye Winter, a freshman from Willow Lake, S.D., has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 22-28.

Winter, a right-handed pitcher, threw a complete game shutout, in a 5-0 win versus Principia College. In 7.0 innings on the mound he allowed only one hit, two walks and struck out nine batters to help Greenville complete the three-game sweep versus Principia.

Mar 22-28 Anthony Genna Webster Jr Willow Springs, Ill./Lyons Township
Webster University's Anthony Genna, a junior from Willow Springs, Ill. (Lyons Township), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 22-28.

Genna, a third baseman, posted a .625 batting average in four games played last week. He went 10-for-16 at the plate with seven runs scored, four RBI and two doubles, while helping the Gorloks to a 4-0 record on the week. 

In Webster's 2-1 win versus North Park University, Genna doubled home the tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning and scored the game winning run. It was his lone hit of the game. He then went 2-for-3 with one double and one run scored in game two of the double header, in which Webster won 2-0. Genna added a 3-for-4 performance with two RBI and three runs in a 19-2 win over Eureka College and went 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs in game two of the twinbill.

Eureka College's Clay McConkey, a senior from Fairview, Ill. (Spoon River Valley), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 15-21.

McConkey, a right-handed pitcher, posted a 1-0 record with a 1.29 ERA in 7.0 innings pitched. He started and earned the victory in Eureka's 10-2 victory versus Illinois College. McConkey struck out seven batters and walked none. His seventh and final strikeout of the game in the sixth inning was the 200th of his collegiate career.

Greenville College's Stefan Neece, a senior from Greenville, Ill. (Bond County Community Unit #2), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 15-21.

Neece, an infielder, went 14-for-27 at the plate for a .519 batting average in eight games played last week. He scored six runs, recorded 15 RBI and had two doubles, two home runs and one triple. 

Neece was 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored and one home run in a 15-4 win versus William Paterson University. He followed that with two hits, both doubles, and four RBI in the Panthers 12-7 loss to Knox College. Neece had a seven-game hitting streak, with six of those seven games being multi-hit performances.

Webster University's Bryan Stanley, a senior from Larkin, Ill., has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 8-14.

Stanley, a right-handed pitcher, went 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA in four relief appearances on the mound last week. He allowed four earned runs, nine hits and two walks in 10.0 innings of work, while also striking out six batters.

Stanley recorded the win and four strikeouts in 2.3 innings on the mound in Webster's 2-1 victory versus Benedictine University (Ill.). He also recorded the win and two strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work versus Mount Union College.

Valdez, an outfielder, posted a .400 batting average in five games played last week. He went 10-for-25 at the plate with three doubles, one triple, one home run, four runs scored and four RBI, as Webster went 3-2 for the week.

Valdez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and a stolen base in the Gorloks 2-1 victory versus Benedictine University (Ill.). He added two hits, including a triple, one run scored and one RBI in a 7-4 win over St. Mary's College (N.Y.), and had two hits, including a double, one RBI and a stolen base in an 11-10 loss to Wittenberg University. Valdez finished the week with two hits, including a home run and two RBI in a 14-7 win versus Mount Union College.

Spalding University's Jacob Wardrip, a junior from Louisville, Ky. (St. Xavier), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 1-7.

Wardrip, a left-handed pitcher, recorded a 0.66 ERA in two appearances last week. He posted a 1-1 record, struck out 10 batters and allowed only one earned run in 13.2 innings of work. Wardrip struck out five batters and gave up seven hits in 7.0 innings on the mound in a loss to Franklin College (Ind.). He then struck out five batters, allowed five hits and four walks in 6.2 innings of work in the Golden Eagles 5-4 win versus Grace College.

Fontbonne University's Jason Nikolaisen, a junior from St. Louis, Mo. (Mehlville), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 1-7.

Nikolaisen, an outfielder, went 6-for-8 at the plate for a .750 average in two games played last week. He added six RBI, four runs, two doubles, one triple and one home run, as the Griffins swept Cornell College, 7-3 and 9-2, to improve to 2-2 on the season.
