    Blackburn College junior setter Kendall Burleyson recently went over the 1,000 assist mark for her career this weekend in Chicago.  In the second set of the Beavers match against Mt. St. Joseph's College, Burleyson recorded her 1,000th assist.  She becomes the fourth player in Blackburn history to record over 1,000 assists.

    Webster University junior Will Hocker (Grapevine, Texas/University of Oklahoma) blew away his school-record low round 66 by three strokes here Saturday afternoon as he shot an 8-under par 63 at the final round of the Carthage Tim Kopka Memorial Tournament held at Randall Oaks Golf Club.

    The SLIAC Volleyball Coaches have picked a rematch of last year's tournament title match, choosing Greenville University and Webster University as preseason favorites in this year's poll. Both schools received four first-place votes each and totaled 76 points. Westminster College was picked 3rd while Fontbonne University and Principia College tied for 4th in the poll.

Webster University picked up the majority of the votes, five to be exact, and finished with 72 total points to claim the top spot. They are followed in order by Spalding University, Greenville University, and Iowa Wesleyan University.

Webster is the overwhelming favorites after picking up 9 first-place votes from the coaches and a total of 81 points. They are followed by the trio of Fontbonne University, Westminster College, and Greenville University who are expected to continue their games into the postseason.

    Webster University Director of Athletics Scott Kilgallon has named current volunteer assistant coach Carl Walker as the interim head women's tennis coach at Webster University for the upcoming 2019 fall season. Walker becomes the 14th head coach in the 35-year history of the program.
