SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
Branden Beeler, Westminster College

Beeler picks up his second Player of the Week award this season after hitting .500 with one home run and seven runs batted in over four games for the Blue Jays last week. In addition, he scored seven runs and finished with a .579 on-base percentage with a slugging percentage of 1.000. Beeler popped a grand slam in the Blue Jays win over Greenville and tallied two three-hit games on the week.

     
   

SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Matt Mulhearn, Webster University

Matt Mulhearn takes home the weekly conference award after an impressive complete game shutout victory over Iowa Wesleyan. Mulhearn, a junior from Chicago Heights, Ill., worked nine full innings, limiting the Tigers to just two hits. He struck out 12 in the game, a career-high, while the complete game shutout marks his first nine-inning complete game. He also moved into 9th place on the program's career strikeout list.

     
   

SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week
Mikala Guthrie, Westminster College

Mikala Guthrie was nearly unstoppable at the plate for Westminster last week, finishing 9-for-13 at the plate in a pair of doubleheader sweeps. Guthrie hit .692 on the week with one home run and six RBI. She had a hit in all four games, finishing with three multi-hit games including a pair of three-hit games. She also drove in at least one run in all four games and finished the week with a .714 on-base percentage.

     
   

SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Madison Ingram, Westminster College

Ingram, a junior, takes the SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. She recorded a pair of wins for the Blue Jays, working a total of 11 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out 12. Ingram notched a complete game five-inning win over MacMurray, allowing one hit while striking out four. She followed with six innings of one-hit ball against Blackburn, striking out eight. 

     
   

SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Tyler Blume, Greenville University

Tyler Blume, a freshman for Greenville, went a perfect 6-0 last week. Playing at #5 singles Blume tallied three singles wins while adding three more victories at #2 doubles. He was 36-8 in singles sets on the week, with conference wins over Fontbonne and Webster.

     
   

SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Paige Cooley, Principia College

Paige Cooley takes home her fourth weekly award this year. Cooley rolled off five wins on the week including three victories at #1 singles including a win over Washington University-St. Louis. She finished the week with a mark of 36-3 in set scores while adding two more wins at #1 doubles with her partner Gabby Kitchingman. 

     
   

SLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Mitchell Hooten, Greenville University

Hooten, a senior from Red Bud, Ill., competed in three events for the Panthers last week at the Greenville Select. Hooten's best finish was a 2nd place showing in the discus with a distance of 148'3". He also placed 4th in the shot put and 7th in the hammer throw. 

     
   

SLIAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Rakim Murphy, Greenville University

Rakim Murphy made his debut with the Panthers track and field team over the weekend, competing in five events and finishing with three top-three finishes. He was part of a 2nd place finish in the 4x100 relay team and took 3rd place in the 100-meter dash. Murphy's best performance was in the long jump, where he finished first with a mark of 22'11".

     
   

SLIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Daisha Reece, Webster University

Reece, a junior from Norman, Okla., took first place in the long jump at the Greenville Select with a mark of 5.43 meters. She also added a top ten finish in the high jump with a height of 1.48 meters.

     
   

SLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Meredith Sowers, Webster University

Sowers took first-place in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:16.17 while adding a sixth-place finish in the 100 hurdles. She finished with personal bests in both events while her time in the 800 was a school record.

  • Sam Alender, Greenville University (Baseball) Worked nine innings, allowing one run while striking out nine in a win over MacMurray.
  • Quenton Brownlee, Spalding University (Baseball) Had six hits in three games, driving in five.
  • Abby Burroughs, Webster University (Softball) Hit .429 with two home runs and nine RBI for the Gorloks over six games.
  • Morgan Christner, Iowa Wesleyan University (Softball) Notched four wins in the circle for the Tigers last week, totaling 30 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched.
  • Hayden Davenport, Spalding University (Baseball) Worked four hitless innings of relief in picking up a win over Transylvania.
  • Kayla Ford, Iowa Wesleyan University (Softball) Had six hits in a doubleheader against Webster and finished the week with a .452 average.
  • Kyle Goessler, Webster University (Track and Field) Finished 3rd in the long jump at the Greenville Select.
  • Michael Puckett, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Went 5-for-8 in a doubleheader against Blackburn, including two home runs and six RBI in game one.
  • Hayden Radford, MacMurray College (Baseball) Struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings in a win over Greenville.
  • Chloe Skorija, Spalding University (Softball) Threw 11.1 scoreless innings over two wins last week.
  • Meredith Sowers, Webster University (Track and Field) Took first place in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:16.17 while adding a sixth-place finish in the 100 hurdles.
  • Luke Summers, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Picked up a win over Blackburn, working seven innings and allowing no runs while striking out 13.
  • Nate Tholl, Webster University (Baseball) Hit .700 over three games for the Gorloks.
  • Jillian Venegas, Fontbonne University (Track and Field) Had two top-five finishes at the Darrel Gourley Open, placing 3rd in the discus and 5th in the shot put.
