Kuykendall and Mangold Selected SLIAC Runners of the Year (Nov. 21, 2018)
Jessie Kuykendall and John Mangold have been selected by league coaches as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Runners of the Year for the 2018 season. This is just the second year of the award, which was created to honor the best runner for the entirety of the racing season.....MORE

Baseball Takes Former Greenville President Around the World (Nov. 25, 2018)
He came to Greenville University in 1955 as a student. For the most part, he’s never left. Robert “Ish” Smith even became President of the school.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Spalding at Principia (Nov. 27, 2018)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is between Spalding University and Principia College in the men's basketball conference opener for both teams. The two teams were separated by just four points in this year's coaches preseason poll with Spalding ranking 6th and Principia 7th.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

Karson Hayes was named this week's SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Hayes led the Beavers to an 81-77 win over Elmhurst last week. scoring 23 points in the win while going 6-of-11 from the field including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Hayes also grabbed six rebounds and recorded two steals while going 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Eureka College

The Red Devils women's basketball team sits at 2-2 overall as they begin conference play this week. They had a two-game winning streak stopped last week in a loss to Monmouth and will open up conference play tonight against Greenville.

Fontbonne University

Molly Kovarik was named United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team. The forward compiled a team-high 16 goals and that ranks her second all-time for a single season. She also concluded with 36 points that placed her sixth overall. She went on to earn SLIAC All-Conference First Team honors. Kovarik is the fourth Griffin all-time to earn NSCAA All-Central Region as she joins Kelly Hobbs (2014), Paige Pfankuch (2014), and Natalie Sipole (2016).

Greenville University

Greenville had two players earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors in men's soccer this year. Edgar Bueno, a senior midfielder, was named Third Team after recording two goals and seven assists. Jared McPeek, a freshman forward, was also named Third Team after finishing with 16 goals and four assists.

Iowa Wesleyan University

The Tigers men's basketball team notched their first win of the season with an 84-81 win over Monmouth. The Tigers trailed 45-42 at halftime but outscored the host school in the second half for the win. Austin Rebel led the way with 27 points and 14 rebounds.

MacMurray College

The MacMurray women's basketball team is 1-2 overall as they prepare to begin SLIAC play this week. Shelby Fink leads the team at 15.7 points per game while Chassidy Hays is averaging 11.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. The Highlanders will face Blackburn in their opener on Wednesday. 

Principia College

Spalding University

Kornell Hilliard, a junior on the men's soccer team, was named to the United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region for the second consecutive year. Hilliard finished with 18 goals and seven assists for 43 points this past fall.

Webster University

Webster announced their Hall of Fame class for 2019 and it includes former Gorloks Candace Barry (women's cross country, 2006-08), Tara Fortschneider (women's basketball, women's soccer, women's cross country and women's tennis, 2000-04), Melanie Klingelhoefer Bernat (volleyball, 2003-06) and Ryan Turk (men's basketball, 2006-09), as well as longtime former Webster athletic director Tom Hart (1991-13). Westminster College

Mirrakohl Johnson picked up her second straight SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award. She recorded her second straight double-double this season after finishing with 14 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Central (Iowa). Johnson hit seven field goals in the game, grabbing six offensive rebounds. She also finished with four assists and five steals in the victory.
