Dix Highlights Record-Setting Day for Panthers (Feb. 2, 2019)
Johari Dix headlines a record-breaking day for the Greenville University Panthers men's basketball team. Two days after setting a new conference record for most points in a game the Panthers broke that mark again while also NCAA Division III records for most combined points in a game, combined rebounds, combined assists, field goals attempts by one team, and three-point field goal attempts by one team.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Webster at Westminster (Feb. 5, 2019)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week pits one team looking to stay in first place in the conference standings and another looking to hold onto a playoff spot. Webster is currently tied for first place in the SLIAC standings and is vying for the right to host the conference tournament. Meanwhile, Westminster comes in tied for 3rd place in the standings and looking to hold onto their one-game lead for the final conference tournament spot......MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

Blackburn continues to chase a spot in the SLIAC Tournament. The Beavers have won two straight games to improve to 11-10 overall and 8-6 in the conference. They are in 5th place in the standings, one game back from the final playoff spot.

Eureka College

The season is winding down on the basketball court which means senior Red Devil Samantha Sarnes career is coming to a close. You can read a feature story on Sarnes by Eureka Media Relations Coordinator HERE

Fontbonne University

Sophomore guard Rylee Stafford is looking to cap off a breakout season. Stafford is leading the Griffins in scoring this season at 14.7 points per game and has tallied double figures in each of her last 17 games. She currently ranks 8th in the SLIAC in scoring and 6th in three-point field goals made (39).

Greenville University

The Greenville women's basketball team secured a spot in the 2019 SLIAC Tournament over the weekend. The Panthers are 11-0 this season and with just five games left on the schedule are looking to become the first program to go undefeated in conference play since Westminster in the 2010-11 season. 

Iowa Wesleyan University

Darby Massner is closing out her Tiger career on a high note. Massner has led the Tigers women's basketball team to back to back wins and this week was named the Iowa Wesleyan Student-Athlete of the Month. Massner is averaging 17.8 points, 4th in the SLIAC, and 10.9 rebounds per game, 2nd in the SLIAC. 

MacMurray College

MacMurray College inducted four new members into their Hall of Fame over the weekend including former SLIAC student-athletes Kelly Matthes (2007) and Joy Davis Moore (1997). Matthes was a standout on the volleyball court while Davis Moore excelled in softball. Other inductees include Brad Burger (1987) and Mike Schmidtke (2007) in football.

Principia College

The Panthers picked up their 3rd conference win of the season on Tuesday night with an 89-78 win over Eureka. After just a one-point lead at halftime, Principia pulled way in the second half. Trevaughn Goodman led the way with 22 points and nine rebounds while Micah Paulson added 21 points.

Spalding University

Alex Martin has led the Golden Eagles to eight straight wins, capturing back to back SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors. Martin capped off last weekend with a career-high 35 points. She also set a program record for assists. 

Webster University

At 11-2 in SLIAC play, the Webster men's basketball team is tied for first place in the standings. They are looking to become the first Gorlok team to host the SLIAC Tournament since the 2014-15 season. Webster is currently 15-5 overall and faces Westminster on Wednesday and Blackburn on Saturday.

Westminster College

Women's Basketball locked up a spot in the 2019 SLIAC Tournament last Saturday. The Blue Jays, who are 16-5 overall and 10-3 in the SLIAC, will play their final two home games of the year this week when they host Webster on Wednesday and Principia on Saturday.
