Record Number Earn SLIAC Fall All-Academic Team Honors (Nov. 16)
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference would like to congratulate the over 200 student-athletes from across the conference that earned All-Academic Team honors this fall. This marks the third consecutive fall that the SLIAC has had a record number of student-athletes earn academic honors, surpassing the previous mark of 182 set last year.....MORE

SLIAC SAAC Members Visit Hope Lodge (Nov. 17, 2017)
Last weekend prior to the fall SLIAC meeting for SAAC, student-athletes from around the conference came together to tour Hope Lodge, a facility run by the American Cancer Society, and visit with the patients and their families. Over 20 student-athletes, coaches, staff members, and conference personal joined in the day; serving lunch to the clients of Hope Lodge and their families. Following lunch, SAAC members spent the afternoon getting to know the clients and their families and playing board games and puzzles. Members also put together a Thankful Tree, writing down what they are thankful for as a reminder and placing it on the tree....MORE

Blackburn College

The Blackburn men's basketball team is off to a 2-1 start in this season, defeating North Park and Elmhurst. The Beavers won their home opener on Tuesday night 66-57 over Elmhurst with Nigel Ferrell leading the way with 14 points. Duncan King added 10 points and five assists. 

Eureka College

It has been an exciting opening week on the hardwood for the Red Devils basketball programs. Last week guard Kerrigan Dura recorded the first triple-double in women's basketball program history with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists against Knox. This week, Shea Feehan became the 23rd player in Red Devil men's basketball history to join the 1,000 point club. Feehan is currently the all-time leader in scoring average (25.3 ppg) and accomplished his feat against Robert Morris-Peoria.

Fontbonne University

The Lady Griffins had their three-game winning streak to start the season snapped on Tuesday to Harris-Stowe. The Griffins opened the year with wins over Robert Morris-Springfield, Marian, and St. Mary of the Woods. Fontbonne will play two more games this weekend; facing Monmouth and Knox. 

Greenville University

The Greenville women's basketball team picked up their second straight win, a 93-53 road victory over Lincoln Christian. Maria Reinhard had a team-high 19 points while Ellaina Davis scored 18 points off the bench in just 19 minutes, knocking down four three-pointers.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Brock Butler is off to a fast start for the Tigers men's basketball team. Butler is averaging 23.8 points per game this season, shooting 48.6 percent from the field and hitting 11 three-pointers. Butler has topped 20 points three times in four games this season including a high of 30 points against Aurora.

MacMurray College

The MacMurray College women's basketball team stands at 1-2 on the season after an 83-69 win over Central Christian last weekend. The Highlanders will have games against Knox and Monmouth this weekend.

Principia College

Principia College played host to the 2017 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships last weekend with North Central winning the men's title and Johns Hopkins winning the women's title. Individually Darin Lau, of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Kia Kurtenbach, of Chicago took home top finishes. Principia not only played host to the race but had the only three participants from the SLIAC in the field with Shane Witters Hicks (42nd place), Zach Matthiesen (66th place), and Nate Richards (96th place). 

Spalding University

The Spalding men's basketball team fell to #4 ranked Hanover on Tuesday night, preventing the Golden Eagles from a second straight win. Spalding picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, defeating Bluffton 65-63. They are in action again on Sunday with a game against Adrian.

Webster University

The women's basketball team is off to a 2-0 start this season, with wins over Lindenwood-Belleville and Ripon. The Gorloks are being led by Aley Lucas, 16.0 points per game. Kelsey Miller is averaging 13.0 points per game and Jaysea Moran is putting up 10.5 points per game. Webster is in action again on Saturday against Augustana.

Westminster College

Last week at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference fall administrative meeting Westminster College was presented with the first-ever SLIAC Commissioner's Cup. Last summer league members approved a new award to be handed out, the Commissioner's Cup. This prestigious award will be presented to the institution that wins both the conference All-Sports Trophy and the conference's Sportsmanship Award in the same academic year.....FULL STORY
