Iowa Wesleyan Relaunching Cross Country (Jan. 5, 2018)
Iowa Wesleyan University is relaunching an NCAA Division III sport adding to the ten represented in IW's athletic arsenal.  Cross Country will begin as Chris Creal has been named as the head men's and women's cross country coach effective immediately.  Relaunching the University's Cross Country program is a move that is part of the athletic department's comprehensive visioning plan, "Committing to Excellence.".....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Blackburn at Webster (Jan. 9, 2018)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is between Blackburn College and Webster University. Last season saw the two teams split the season series with just a two-point scoring differential in the two games combined. Webster won the first game 88-85 but Blackburn exacted revenge with a 65-60 win one month later, with each team winning on the road.....MORE

Blackburn College

The Blackburn women's basketball team hits the road for a pair of conference games this week. The Beavers will face Spalding on Wednesday night and Webster on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Kate Smith leads the team this year at 10.6 points per game, reaching double figures in scoring seven times this season.

Eureka College

The Eureka men's basketball team ranks 18th in NCAA Division III in scoring (88.7 ppg) and are led by Shea Feehan. Feehan, averaging 31.0 ppg, moved into 10th place on the program's all-time list last week; surpassing 1,300 career points. He needs just 17 more points to move into 9th place, passing Bob Strickland.

Fontbonne University

Fontbonne University announced the date for their annual Men's and Women's Soccer Trivia Night. The event will take place on February 24th at the Dunham Student Activity Center and begins at 6:30 p.m. Cost is just $20 per person with 8-10 members per team. For more information click HERE

Greenville University

The Greenville men's basketball team had a thrilling come from behind win on Tuesday night, topping Principia 133-129. Greenville was down by as many as 15 points in the game before rallying late. Johari Dix and Sonti Grady each scored a team best 23 points while Vari Bonney added 21 points off the bench. Greenville is now 8-6 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

Iowa Wesleyan University

The Tigers women's basketball team opened 2018 with an impressive home win over Westminster College. The Tigers won 59-57, handing the Blue Jays just their second conference loss of the year. Darby Massner led the way for Iowa Wesleyan with 16 points and seven rebounds. Iowa Wesleyan is now 2-11 overall and 2-3 in the SLIAC and returns to action this Saturday at home against Fontbonne.

MacMurray College

Brent Long continues his recent dominance for the Highlanders. Long has topped 30 points in three straight games and now scored in double figures in all but one game this season. He is currently averaging 24.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 61-percent from the field.

Principia College

TreVaughn Goodman had quite the performance on Tuesday night. Goodman, a sophomore guard, finished with 43 points (the third most in conference history) while also grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out 14 assists; recording an elusive triple-double. 

Spalding University

The Spalding men's basketball team rallied from down 16 points to pick up a 61-58 win over Webster last Saturday. Down 22-6 to start the game Spalding cut the deficit to two points with 1:24 remaining in the first half with the Golden Eagles eventually taking a 35-30 lead into the half. Dominique Ellis led Spalding with 17 points while Brandon Williams finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Webster University

The Gorloks women's basketball team has won two straight games to improve to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in the SLIAC. They will head to MacMurray on Wednesday night before hosting Blackburn on Saturday. Aley Lucas is leading the team with 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game

Westminster College

The Westminster men's basketball team held off Iowa Wesleyan for an 87-82 win last Saturday. The Blue Jays placed five players in double figures in scoring with Stu Hollandsworth leading the way with 21 points. Westminster is 9-4 overall and sits in first-place in the SLIAC standings with a 5-1 record. The bring a two-game winning streak into their game against Eureka on Wednesday.
