The final St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the 2016-17 season goes to Kyle Uhrich, doing double duty, as the Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week. He becomes the first player in the SLIAC to take home both awards in the same week, since at least 2007.
Kyle Uhrich, a senior for Webster University, claims both the SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week awards. At the plate Uhrich hit .500 for the Gorloks, helping them to secure the SLIAC regular season title. He recorded a hit while driving in a run in all three games last week including a 3-for-4 game in the regular season finale against Fontbonne. Uhrich finished the week with four runs batted in and four doubles, going 5-for-10 at the plate.
On the mound, Uhrich picked up a complete game shutout win over Fontbonne, his seventh win of the season. Uhrich worked nine innings of two-hit ball, striking out nine and walking just one.
