This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are: Hunter Ward, from Webster University; and Emmie Haring, from Fontbonne University.
SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ward, a junior from Kirkwood, Mo., nearly helped his team complete a come from behind effort against Blackburn. Ward scored 11 points in the final eight minutes of the game as his team came up four points short. Ward finished the contest with a game high 22 points and 13 rebounds while adding eight assists. He was 5-of-11 from the field with one three-pointer while also going 11-of-15 from the free-throw line. Ward also committed just one turnover in the game and added two steals. This is his second consecutive SLIAC Player of the Week award.
SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haring, a junior from Ballwin, Mo., helped the Griffins to a pair of wins last week including a win over Westminster. Haring averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game; shooting 65-percent from the field. In addition she added nine steals over the two games and shot 80-percent from the free-throw line. Haring scored a career high 24 points in a win over Rust with seven assists and seven steals. She folowed with 12 points and six assists in helping the Griffins snap a six game losing streak against Westminster. Haring is averaging 7.9 points this season and currently leads the conference in assists.
- Sam Feehan, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Feehan tallied 25 points and five assists in a win over MacMurray, sealing the game with a free-throw with one second remaining on the clock.
- DeAndre Manuel, Blackburn College (Men's Basketball) Manuel sparked his team to a win over Webster, recording 21 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 10-of-13 from the field.
- James Turner, Spalding University (Men's Basketball) Turner tallied 18 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds in a win over Greenville, going 8-of-11 from the field.
