The Webster University baseball team finds itself in both the ABCA and D3baseball.com national polls this week. They are ranked #20 in the latest ABCA poll and #25 in the latest D3baseball.com poll.....MORE

SLIAC SPRING STANDINGS
AROUND THE SLIAC
Erica Wilson has had a strong start to the 2015 season for the Beaver softball team. Wilson is hitting .478 this year, second best in the SLIAC. Her on-base percentage of .520 is also 6th in the league and she has added five runs batted in.
The Eureka softball team is currently 2-0 in conference action, after sweeping Principia. The Red Devils are third in the SLIAC in scoring with 59 runs in 12 games. The youthful team has been carried by a pair of freshman hitters in Kali George and Krysten Wallace, who are both hitting .371 on the year. A third freshman Deidre Whightsil is hitting .294 and is second on the team with eight runs batted in.
The Griffins softball team has tested themselves early this year against some nationally ranked foes. They are looking to snap a three game losing streak in which they dropped a game to D II Lindenwood and were swept by #10 ranked Emory. The Griffins open up SLIAC play this weekend when they host Spalding University and then return to action against nationally ranked Wash U on Sunday.
The Greenville softball team has won three straight games, picking up victories over Stevenson, Anderson, and Calvin down in Florida on their spring break trip. The Panthers return to the Midwest this week and will open up SLIAC play as they face Eureka on Wednesday. Greenville is then set to host Grinnell on Thursday and returns to conference play on Saturday as they host Blackburn. Greenville will be looking to improve on their 5-4 overall record.
The Tiger baseball team is currently 6-6 overall and are coming a three game weekend series against Webster in which they were able to take game two of the series, snapping the Webster 29 game conference winning streak. After stepping out of conference play on Wednesday to face Monmouth the Tigers return to SLIAC play this weekend with a pair of double headers when they host Greenville and Blackburn.
The Highlander baseball team sits at 7-7 overall and 3-0 in the SLIAC. They have won four of their last five games and face a pair of conference opponents this week. MacMurray is set to face Blackburn in a single game on Wednesday and then travels to Fontbonne for a double header on Sunday. Highlander Aaron Krummrich is swinging a hot bat and ranks second in the league in RBI with 19.
The Principia track and field team opened up the outdoor season with a strong showing at the Wash U Mini. Lyssa Winslow took first in three events; the discus, hammer throw, and shot put. She currently ranks in the top 20 nationally in all three events. Geoff Hibbs set a personal best in the javelin throw and currently ranks fifth nationally.
The Spalding baseball team is off to a 6-4 start this year and are coming off a pair of wins over Centre. They will face Thomas More on Wednesday before playing a pair of SLIAC double headers this weekend. Spalding is set to host Webster on Saturday and then will take on Westminster on Sunday.
The duo of Monica Behrle and Marissa Lewis have gotten off to quite a start for the Gorlok women's tennis team. Behrle is 7-1 in singles play this spring, picking up five wins at the #2 spot. Lewis meanwhile is 6-2 in singles action with four wins at the team's top spot. Combined the two have taken all three of this year's Player of the Week awards with Lewis winning twice and Behrle once.
The Blue Jays baseball team is off to a fast start this year with a 7-3 overall record and a 3-0 mark in the SLIAC West Division. The Blue Jays have the league's top two hitters in Tyler Branneky (.500) and Tim Chambliss (.476). On the mound the pitching staff is led by Deion Hughes, who is currently in the top five in the SLIAC in wins, strikeouts, and earned-run average.
