A total of five St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference programs have been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for their success in the classroom this past fall. Both the men's and women's programs from Principia College as well as the women's team from Webster University and the men's teams from Fontbonne University and Greenville College received the honors.
The Principia men's team is making their ninth appearance while the women's team is making thier 16th all-time appearance and second consecutive. The Webster women's team is making their 15th consecutive appearance. The Fontbonne men's team is making their second consecutive appearance on the list. The Greenville men's team is being recognized for the first time in program history.

To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible. The NSCAA instituted the Team Academic Awards in 1996. The NSCAA is the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization that serves members at every level of the game. The NSCAA works every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community.
