Eureka College's Alyssa Wetterauer, a
junior from Washington, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week
for the week of April 13-19.
Wetterauer went 1-0 at #2 Singles and 2-0
at #3 Singles last week, while also posting a 1-1 record at #1 Doubles.
She had a 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 victory at #2 Singles and an 8-3 doubles
victory in Eureka's 6-3 non-conference win over Knox College. She also
had a 6-0, 6-1 win at #3 Singles in a 9-0 conference win versus
Fontbonne University.
Wetterauer's singles match versus
Principia was the last match going, as the two teams were tied at 4-4.
She rallied for a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory at #3 Singles to give the Red
Devils their first ever win over the Panthers. Wetterauer and teammate
Meredith Lynch battled to an 8-6 loss at #1 Doubles against Principia. |

Westminster College's Abby Stuck, a
senior from Boonville, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week
for the week of April 6-12.
Stuck went 3-0 at #1 Singles and 3-0 at
#1/#2 Doubles while helping the Blue Jays to a 3-0 record last week. In
singles play, Stuck came back from a 3-0, third set deficit to win 7-6
and give Westminster a 5-4 victory over Greenville College. She also won
the clinching match, 6-4, 6-4, in the Blue Jays 6-3 win against
Principia College.
Stuck and teammate Dori Craighead
partnered at #2 Doubles for an 8-3 victory versus Greenville and an 8-4
victory versus Principia. They also teamed at #1 Doubles for an 8-1 win
versus Fontbonne University. |

for the week of March 30-April 5.
Lynch went 2-0 at both #1 Singles and #1
Doubles last week. She improved to 5-0 overall in singles play with a
6-0, 6-0 shutout versus Westminster College and a 6-3, 6-1 win at
Webster University. Lynch and teammate Alyssa Wetterauer posted an 8-2
doubles victory versus Westminster and then battled to an 8-6 win at
Webster to improve to 4-1 overall at #1 Doubles. |

Fandel went 2-0 at #5 Singles and 1-1 at
#2 Doubles as the Red Devils posted a 1-1 record on the week. She
recorded a 6-2, 6-1 singles victory and an 8-3 doubles victory with
teammate Natalie Wetterauer in Eureka's 5-4 win over Greenville College.
Fandel shutout her opponent 6-0, 6-0, in the Red Devils 6-3 loss to
Monmouth College (Ill.). |

Webster University's Allison Tungate, a freshman from
Flora, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Women's
Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 16-22.
Tungate went unbeaten in singles competition last week and 2-1 in
doubles play. She posted the lone victory in the Gorloks' 6-3 loss to
Missouri Baptist University (the other two points were by default). She
won 6-2, 7-5 at #2 Singles. Tungate also posted 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0
victories at #2 Singles versus Blackburn College and Fontbonne
University respectively.
In doubles play, Tungate teamed with her twin sister, Paige, and
recorded 8-0 and 8-2 victories against Blackburn and Fontbonne. Webster
defeated both Blackburn and Fontbonne 9-0 to start off 2-0 in conference
play. |

Lee's Summit, Mo. (Blue Springs South), has been named the SLIAC Women's
Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 9-15.
Lamkin was 2-0 at #4/5 Singles and 0-1 at
#2 Doubles as the Blue Jays went 0-2 last week. Westminster dropped a
6-3 decision to Cornell College and a 7-2 decision to Wartburg College
with Lamkin recording singles wins in both matches. At #5 Singles
against Cornell, Lamkin pulled out a 6-4, 7-5 win. She followed that
with a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) victory at #4 Singles versus Wartburg.
Lamkin partnered with teammate Dori
Craighead at #2 Doubles, and the duo lost a tough 8-6 decision against
Wartburg. |

Peterson went 2-1 at #2 Singles and 1-1 at #1 Doubles last week, as the
Blue Jays posted a 1-2 record. She recorded a 6-2, 6-3 victory in
singles play in Westminster's 5-4 loss to Missouri Baptist University.
Peterson helped lead her team to their first win of the season versus
Stephens College with an 8-1 victory in doubles play and a 6-0, 6-2 win
in singles play. |
