Apr 14-20 Ashley Ragnow Principia Sr Chesterfield, Mo./Principia Upper

Principia College's Ashley Ragnow, a senior from Chesterfield, Mo. (Principia Upper), has been named the SLIAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 14-20.

Ragnow went 2-1 last week at both #2 singles and #3 doubles. She posted victories versus both Maryville and Blackburn to remain undefeated in conference action. Ragnow's one loss at both singles and doubles came against nationally ranked No. 14 Washington University-St. Louis.

Mar 31-Apr 6 Cory Sprague Principia Sr San Diego, Calif./Francis W. Parker

Principia College’s Cory Sprague, a senior from San Diego, Calif. (Francis W. Parker), has been named the SLIAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 31-April 6.

Sprague won all six of her matches during the week including three matches at #1 singles and three at #1 doubles with Juliana Ko, including a three-set singles win over  Greenville (3-6, 6-2, 10-8).  Principia posted a 3-0 record at the Greenville Lady Panthers Invitational as Sprague and her Panther teammates posted wins over Stephens, Eureka and Greenville.

Mar 24-30 Laila Wessel Webster Sr Evansville, Ind./F.J. Reitz

Webster University’s Laila Wessel, a senior from Evansville, Ind. (F.J. Reitz), has been named the SLIAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 24-30.

Wessel went 2-1 at both #1 singles and #1 doubles.  In singles, she defeated Westminster’s Abby Stuck in three sets (3-6, 6-2, 6-2) and Eureka’s Alyssa Wetterauer (6-4, 6-1).  Wessel teamed with Alexandra Meyer to post an 8-3 win over Westminster (Stuck/Dori Craighead) and an 8-2 win over Eureka (Wetterauer/Ebony Thomas).  Webster defeated Westminster, 6-3, and Eureka, 8-1.  Both of Wessel’s losses came in the Gorloks’ 9-0 loss to Concordia (Neb.).

Mar 10-16 Dori Craighead Westminster (Mo.) So Fulton, Mo./Fulton

Westminster College’s Dori Craighead, a sophomore from Fulton, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 10-16.

After falling in two matches to Missouri Baptist University, Craighead won twice in the Blue Jays’ 6-3 win over Piedmont.  She won 6-4, 6-2 at #1 singles and teamed with Abby Stuck for a 9-8 (7-5) win at #1 doubles.

Mar 3-9 Abby Stuck Westminster (Mo.) Jr Booneville, Mo./Booneville

Westminster College's Abby Stuck, a junior from Boonville, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 3-9.

Stuck was 1-0 at #2 singles and 1-0 at #1 doubles to help lead the Blue Jays to a season opening 5-4 victory versus Stephens College.

Stuck partnered with teammate Dori Craighead for an 8-4 doubles victory. After all the other matches were complete and the score tied at 4-4, Stuck came back from a set down to win 6-7 (2-7), 7-5, 10-6, and give Westminster the victory.
