ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the 2011 All-Conference Women's Soccer Team and special award winners.
Greenville College's Jackie Sievert, a senior midfielder, received the top women's soccer honor this season as she was named 2011 SLIAC Player of the Year. Sievert recorded 23 points on eight goals and seven assists in eight conference games played. She tied for the league lead in points and assists, while finishing tied for third in goals scored.
Webster University's Jessica Davis, a freshman goalkeeper, earned SLIAC Newcomer of the Year honors. Davis did not allow a goal in conference play this season, making 10 saves in 435 minutes over eight games played. She also led the SLIAC overall with a 0.42 goals-against average in 16 contests.
Principia College first-year head coach Jess Semnacher was named the 2011 SLIAC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year. Semnacher led Principia to its fourth consecutive undefeated season and fifth straight regular season title. His squad finished 8-0 in conference play and stood at 14-3-1 prior to the SLIAC Tournament.
Principia College received the Sportsmanship Award for the sixth consecutive year. The team Sportsmanship Award is given to the team whose players, coaches and fans best exhibit the principles of good sportsmanship. The SLIAC also recognizes one individual from each team, selected by his coach and teammates, who throughout the season best displays the ideals fo sportsmanship. The 2011 All-Sportsmanship Team includes sophomore Sammi Ferguson (Blackburn), senior Erika Thomas (Eureka), junior Anna Hotop (Fontbonne), senior Rachel Irwin (Greenville), junior Alexis Apodaca-Fresquez (MacMurray), senior Alicia Girbes-Pierce (Principia), sophomore Elizabeth Fuchs (Spalding), freshman Whitney Scott (Webster) and sophomore Chelsea Cole (Westminster).
