2012 Men's Tennis Players of the Week

Ricky Eaves (Webster)
Webster University's Ricky Eaves, a junior from St. Louis,
Mo. (McCluer North), has been named the Men's Tennis Player of the
Week for the week of April 9-15.
Eaves went 2-0 a #3 Singles last week with victories against NCAA Division II opponent Maryville University (Mo.) and SLIAC opponent Principia College. He won both matches in three sets, posting a 1-6, 7-5, 6-1 win against Maryville and a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win against Principia. Eaves also recorded an 8-5 win at #2 Doubles versus Principia and narrowly lost 9-8 in doubles action versus Maryville.

Josh Sellmeyer (Webster)
Webster University's Josh Sellmeyer, a junior from St.
Louis, Mo. (Mehlville), has been named the Men's Tennis Player of
the Week for the week of April 2-8.
Sellmeyer won his 10th straight singles and doubles matches of the year and is currently undefeated (10-0) in both. In Webster's 8-1 victory versus Greenville College he won 6-0, 6-3 at #3 Singles and 8-6 at #3 Doubles.

Paul Sanderude (Principia)
Principia College's Paul Sanderude, a senior from
Ridgefield, Conn., has been named the Men's Tennis Player of the
Week for the week of March 26-April 1.
Sanderude posted a 2-0 record at both #1 Singles and #1 Doubles last week in two conference matches. He defeated Fontbonne University's Karl Faust, 6-2, 6-1, and then battled to a three-set victory (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) against Westminster College's Tony Stephenson, which was ultimately the deciding match in Principia's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays. In doubles action Sanderude and teammate Jason Wissman won 8-4 against Fontbonne and 9-7 versus Westminster.

Jason Wissman (Principia)
Principia College's Jason Wissman, a freshman from
Westlake, Ohio, has been named the Men's Tennis Player of the Week
for the week of March 19-25.
Wissman went undefeated in both singles and doubles action last week. He posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #2 Singles and an 8-0 victory at #1 Doubles versus Central Christian College. Wissman only lost one game last week, as he defeated Eureka College's Nick Stein, 6-1, 6-0, at #1 Singles. Wissman and teammate Paul Sanderude also won 8-0 at #1 Doubles against Eureka.

Nate Waters (Principia)
Principia College's Nate Waters, a freshman from Menlo
Park, Calif. (The Principia School), has been named the Men's
Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 12-18.
Waters posted a 3-2 record in singles action last week, including 2-0 at the #4 position. He posted victories at #4 singles against Illinois Wesleyan (6-4, 6-2) and St. Scholastica (6-2, 6-2) before moving up to the #3 position for the remainder of the week. Waters went 1-2 at the #3 position, with his lone win a 6-1, 6-1 decision against the University of Dubuque.
Waters also went 2-3 in doubles action last week, playing at all three doubles positions. He and teammate Weston Kalogeridis recorded an 8-5 victory at #2 doubles against Illinois Wesleyan. Waters and teammate Andrew Rohrer also posted an 8-6 win at #3 doubles versus the University of Dubuque.

Diego Alarcon (Webster)
Webster University's Diego Alarcon, a junior from Quito,
Ecuador (American School), has been named the Men's Tennis Player
of the Week for the week of March 5-11.
Alarcon won his sixth straight singles and sixth straight doubles matches this season in a 9-0 victory versus Fontbonne University. He won at #2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, playing there for the first time this season. He is 7-1 on the year in singles, previously playing at the #1 and #3 spots. Alarcon also improved to 6-2 in doubles, all at the #1 position. He and teammate Francissco Cortez won 8-0 against Fontbonne.

Franciso Cortez (Webster)
Webster University's Francissco Cortez, a junior from
Quincy, Ill., has been named the Men's Tennis Player of the Week
for the week of February 27-March 4.
Cortez went 2-0 at both #1 Singles and #1 Doubles for the Gorloks last week. Cortez and teammate Diego Alarcon won both of their doubles matches 9-7. Cortez posted a 6-2, 6-3 win in singles action against Lindenwood University-Belleville. He then battled to a 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 11-9 win versus Dominican University (Ill.).
Webster defeated Lindenwood-Belleville, 6-3, and Dominican, 8-1, to improve to 7-1 overall on the year.
