Conference action is back in full swing with only two men's teams and two women's team still undefeated in SLIAC play. On the men's side, Webster University and Westminster College both stand at 2-0 in the SLIAC. Both teams face MacMurray College this week, and the Gorloks will host Blackburn College on Wednesday, January 9, while the Blue Jays host Eureka College on Saturday, January 12.

Maryville University's women's squad extended their regular season conference win streak to 63 games with a victory last week and now stand at 3-0 in conference play. Greenville College is also undefeated at 2-0 and will look to upset the Saints this Wednesday, when they travel to St. Louis.

The Blackburn women recorded a big 75-73 win versus Fontbonne University last weekend. The Beavers, who were led by Lovie McClom with 19 points, five rebounds and five assists, stand at 2-1 in conference play. Principia College picked up their first win in the SLIAC with a 52-42 victory versus Webster. Christina Speer recorded a double-double for the Panthers with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Maryville's men's squad battled to a 73-69 victory versus Eureka on their home court. Tyler Saxton, who transferred back to Maryville at semester, led the Saints with 19 points and helped them to improve to 2-1 in conference play. Fontbonne also improved to 2-1 with a 76-53 win at Blackburn. Patrick McCoy led the Griffins with a season-high 28 points on 10-of-16 (.625) shooting from the field and 8-of-13 (.615) from three-point range.
