Class of 1994

  Dr. Meneve Dunham
Dr. Meneve Dunham was the President of Fontbonne University from 1984-1994. She was instrumental in the formation of SLIAC in 1989, and later encouraged the growth of the conference from six schools to eight. This growth made it possible, in 1999, for the conference to receive Automatic Qualifiers to the NCAA Tournament in seven sports. The Dunham Student Activity Center on the Fontbonne campus was built during her tenure and named after her.

  Walter Schoenke
Walter Schoenke was the first Commissioner of the SLIAC, serving from its founding in 1989 until 1993. As a longtime executive in the Astro-Turf Division of Monsanto Chemical Company, he brought a wealth of experience in athletics to the leadership of the conference.
