Westminster College's Josh Brown, a junior from
Springfield, Mo. (Kickapoo), has been named the SLIAC Men's Tennis Player
of the Week for the week of April 13-19.
Brown went undefeated (2-0) at both #4 Singles and #2
Doubles to help lead Westminster to a 2-0 record for the week. He
recorded straight set singles wins versus both Maryville University and
Principia College. He also partnered with teammate Andrew Darkow for 8-1
and 8-2 doubles victories respectively.
Brown's two victories versus Principia
helped the Blue Jays secure a 6-3 victory over the Panthers and gave
Westminster the top seed in the forthcoming SLIAC Tournament. |

of the Week for the week of April 6-12.
Payne went undefeated (2-0) at both #1
Singles and #1 Doubles to help lead Westminster to a 2-0 record for the
week. He posted a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 singles win in the Blue Jays 7-2 victory
over Greenville College. Payne also won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, in
Westminster's 9-0 win versus Fontbonne University. In doubles action,
Payne and teammate Chris Claypool partnered for an 8-5 decision versus
Greenville and an 8-0 decision versus Fontbonne. |

sophomore from
St. Louis, Mo. (McCluer), has been named the SLIAC Men's Tennis Player
of the Week for the week of March 30-April 5.
Newlin posted a 3-1 record in singles
play, including 2-1 at #1 Singles last week. He also had a 6-0, 6-1
victory at #2 Singles in the Panthers 9-0 win versus Fontbonne
University. Newlin and teammate Taylor Dunnington also posted a 3-1
record at #1 Doubles., including an 8-1 win versus Fontbonne.
Greenville went 3-1 overall last week and
1-0 in conference play. Their 9-0 victory versus Fontbonne improved
their conference record to 2-0. |

Week for the week of March 23-29.
Arnold went 3-0 at #6 Singles and 2-0 at
#3 doubles in three matches last week. He recorded straight set singles
wins in all three matches, and he and teammate David Berry posted an 8-0
victory over the College of Staten Island and an 8-2 victory over Centre
College.
Westminster went undefeated for the week,
defeating Staten Island, 7-2, Centre, 7-2 and Elmhurst College 6-3. |

Eureka College's Aaron Rapp, a senior from
Normal, Ill. (Normal West), has been named the SLIAC Men's Tennis
Player of the Week for the week of March 16-22.
Rapp went undefeated (2-0) at both #1 Singles and #1 Doubles last week,
while the Red Devils went 0-2 on the week. He posted a 6-2, 6-1 win
against non-conference opponent, Ripon College, and then went on to
record a 6-4, 6-0 win in SLIAC play versus Maryville University (Mo.).
In doubles play he partnered with teammate Patrick Howard to win 8-4
versus Ripon and 8-2 versus Maryville.
The victories were Rapp's first of the season in both singles and
doubles play. Eureka lost 6-3 to Ripon and 5-4 to Maryville, improving
from last year's 8-1 loss to the Saints. |

Darkow went 2-0 at #1 Doubles and 1-1 at
#1/2 Singles as Westminster lost two matches last week. The Blue Jays
lost 5-4 to Cornell College and dropped a 6-3 decision to Wartburg
College. Darkow and teammate Cooper Payne led the Blue Jays with #1
Doubles victories in both matches; they won 8-1 versus Cornell and 8-3
versus Wartburg. Darkow also tallied a 6-3, 6-1 win at #2 Singles
against Cornell before losing 4-6, 6-0 and 10-2 at #1 Singles versus
Wartburg. |

versus Cornell College. He then won 6-4, 7-5 at #1 Singles and 8-6 at #1
Doubles versus Central College (Iowa). |
