Westminster College's Matt Mercer, a senior from St. Louis,
Mo. (Whitfield), has been named the SLIAC Men's Soccer Player
of the Week for the week of October 22-28. This is the third time this
season Mercer has earned the honor, including his second consecutive
week. Mercer, a forward, finished the week with
two goals and two assists for a total of six points in a 4-1
Blue Jay victory versus Fontbonne University that clinched the
No. 2 seed for Westminster in the SLIAC Tournament. It is the
highest conference finish for the Blue Jays in four years.
Mercer, who now has 23 goals, nine assists and
55 points this season, broke the Westminster record for goals and points
in a season. He also ranks among the national statistical leaders in
NCAA Division III in Goals per Game and Points per Game.

Westminster College's Matt Mercer, a

of the Week for the week of October 15-21. This is the second time this
season Mercer has earned the honor. Mercer, a
forward, finished the week with five goals and two assists as he
led the Blue Jays to a 2-1 record. He recorded one goal and the
game-winning assist in a 3-0 non-conference victory versus
Maryville University (Mo.). He then added three goals and
another game-winning assist as Westminster defeated Greenville
College 4-3 to remain in contention for the SLIAC Tournament.
Mercer also scored the Blue Jays lone goal in a 5-1 loss to NAIA
Columbia College.
Mercer, who now has 21 goals, seven
assists and 49 points this season, broke the Westminster record
for goals and points in a season.

Seaman, a forward, helped lead the
Panthers to their sixth consecutive victory last week in a 3-0
shutout versus Westminster College (Mo.). He had two goals,
including the game-winner, as Principia remained undefeated in
conference play at 6-0. |

Mercer then added two goals, including the game-winner, and two assists
in a 4-3 Blue Jay victory versus Millikin University.
Mercer, with his four goals last week, tied the
Westminster record for most goals in a season at 16.

September 24-30.
Utley, a forward, scored three goals and added
one assist for a total of seven points last week. He recorded the
game-winning goals in a 1-0 victory versus Maryville University (Mo.)
and a 5-0 victory versus MacMurray College, that helped his squad remain
undefeated in conference play at 4-0.
Utley now leads the Griffins on the
season in goals (6) and points (13).

Ellis, a midfielder, netted the
game-winning goal to give the Panthers a 2-0 victory versus
Webster University in conference action on the road. He also
scored two goals in a 5-2 win over Blackburn College, bringing
his season goal total to five. |

Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 10-16.
Scott, a midfielder, scored two goals, both
game-winners, this pas week as he helped the Saints start 2-0 in
conference play. He scored the game-winning goal in Maryville's SLIAC
opening win on the road at Westminster College (Mo.). Scott then score
the Saints opening goal less than three minutes into the game versus
Lincoln Christian College. Scott also added one
assist for the week. |

a junior goalkeeper from Quincy, Ill., has been named the SLIAC
Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 3-9.
Senior recorded a 2-0 shutout in the Saints
first victory of the season versus Luther College at the Soccer Classic
in Decorah, Iowa. He faced a total of 15 shots versus the Norse and
tallied seven saves to be named to the All-Tournament Team. Maryville
also finished in a three-way tie for the championship after losing their
second game to Augustana College (Ill.) 2-0. |

goals for the Panthers as they went 2-0 at the 2007 Rhodes Classic in
Memphis, Tenn. Principia defeated Millsaps College 3-1 and host school
Rhodes 2-1. |
