Westminster College's Andrew Buxton, a senior from Wildwood,
Mo. (Lafayette), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the
Week for the week of February 18-24. This is Buxton's second time this
season to earn the honor.
Buxton, a 6-3 guard, averaged 25.5
points in two Blue Jay victories last week in the Conference. He
had 26 points and six rebounds to lead Westminster to a 70-69
overtime victory versus Fontbonne University. He had six
three-point field goals and scored 10 of his squad's 13 points
in the overtime period.
Buxton also added 25 points and three
rebounds in a 64-58 road victory at Blackburn College. He now
has 1,082 career points and moves into 13th on Westminster's
all-time scoring list. |

University's Aaron Steinke, a junior from Ballwin,
Mo. (J.F.Kennedy), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for
the week of February 11-17.
Steinke, a 6-6 forward, averaged 18.5 points,
4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two games played last week. He also shot
60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the floor, as the Saints went 2-0 for the
week.
Steinke netted a team-high 23 points on 9-of-15
(.600) shooting from the field and 4-of-5 (.800) from the charity stripe
to lead Maryville to a 75-73 upset victory on the road at Fontbonne
University. He also added five rebounds, two assists and one steal as
the Saints remained in the running for the SLIAC Tournament.
Steinke recorded 14 points in
Maryville's 85-74 non-conference victory versus Lincoln
Christian College, marking the 13th game this season that he has
scored in double figures.

Principia College's Kyle Johnson, a senior from St. Louis,
Mo. (Parkway West), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for
the week of February 4-10.
Johnson, a 6-3 forward, averaged 28 points, 11.5
rebounds and five assists in three games played last week. He also shot
58.0 percent (35-of-60) from the floor, as the Panthers went 2-1 for the
week.
Johnson recorded 20 points, six rebounds, five
assists and three steals in an 81-75 non-conference loss to Robert
Morris College-Springfield. He then had 26 points, nine rebounds, seven
assists and one steal to help Principia to a 92-81 victory versus
MacMurray College in SLIAC action. Johnson's best outing of the week,
however, was a 37 point and 20 rebound performance that helped the
Panthers to a 106-101 double overtime victory versus Lincoln Christian
College.

College's Michael Zasada, a sophomore from McHenry, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for
the week of January 28-February 3.
Zasada, a 6-5 forward, averaged a double-double
last week with 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in two games played. He
shot 12-of-22 (.545) from the field, 2-of-6 (.333) from behind the arc
and 3-of-5 (.600) from the free throw line, while also recording 10
steals, six assists and two blocks.
Zasada had nine points, nine rebounds,
three assists and three steals in a 93-76 loss at Lincoln
Christian College. He then posted a career-high 20 points and
added 12 rebounds to lead the Red Devils to a 71-70 overtime
victory versus Maryville University. He also added seven steals,
three assists and two blocks, while shooting 8-of-11 (.727) from
the field, 2-of-3 (.667) from three-point range and 2-of-2
(1.000) from the charity stripe. His 20 points and 12 rebounds
marked his fourth double-double of the season and the eighth
straight game that he has led his squad in rebounding. |

Brian Fogerty, a senior from Winfield, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for
the week of January 21-27.
Fogerty, a 6-4 forward, averaged 23 points and
nine rebounds in two conference games last week, as the Griffins
defeated Westminster College (Mo.) 62-60 and MacMurray College 86-67. He
also finished 19-of-35 (.543) from the field, 8-of-10 (.800) from the
charity stripe and recorded seven assists and two steals to help
Fontbonne extend their current win streak to 10 games and improve to
13-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
Fogerty posted 22 points and eight
rebounds to help Fontbonne hand Westminster their first SLIAC
loss this season. He then went on to record a double-double, 24
points and 10 rebounds, in the Griffins' win versus MacMurray.
Fogerty scored his 1,000th-career point in Fontbonne's victory
at MacMurray. He is the eighth player in school history to reach
the 1,000-career point plateau. |

Mo., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for
the week of January 14-20.
Hoggatt, a 6-6 center, scored a season-high 19
points on 6-of-13 (.460) shooting from the field and 7-of-10 (.700) from
the free throw line to help the Gorloks defeat Greenville College 79-56.
He then scored 11 points as Webster defeated Eureka College 66-63 to
remain undefeated in conference play. Hoggatt's performance versus
Eureka marked the fifth time in the last six games that he has scored in
double figures. He also tied his season-high for rebounds, with six
boards in each game. |

McCoy, a 6-0
guard, a career-high 44 points versus Principia College last Saturday.
He netted a Fontbonne and SLIAC record 13 three-point field goal and
finished 14-of-23 (.608) from the field and 13-of-20 (.650) from behind
the arc. McCoy also scored 19 points in an 81-63 victory versus Eureka
College last week.
Fontbonne
extended their current win streak to six games and now stands at 9-3
overall and 4-1 in the SLIAC.

McCoy, a 6-0 guard, scored a season-high 28 points to held lead
the Griffins to a 76-53 victory versus Blackburn College. McCoy
finished 10-of-16 (.625) from the field and 8-of-13 (.615) from
behind the arc, while committing only one turnover in 35 minutes
on the court.
Fontbonne extended their current win streak to four games and
now stands at 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the SLIAC. |

Baker, a forward, scored 14 points, grabbed three rebounds and
had a career-high three blocked shots in the Saints’ loss to Coe
College (70-64). He shot 6-of-8 from the field, including

Buxton, a guard, scored 46 points in two games last week, leading the
Blue Jays to two victories versus Maryville University (Mo.) and
Greenville College. In the two games he hit 17-of-31 from the field,
4-of-11 from behind the arc and was a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity
stripe. He also tallied three assists, four steals and had just two
turnovers in 63 minutes on the court.
Buxton scored 19 points and grabbed four rebounds in a 82-61 win versus
Maryville. He then recorded 27 points and seven rebounds in a 73-59 win
versus Greenville. The two wins marked the first time since the 1995-96
season that Westminster opened SLIAC play 2-0. |

Darnall, a 6-3, guard, averaged 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in one game
played last week. His 17 points was a game-high as the Red Devils lost
to Dominican University (Ill.) 57-49. Darnall, who shot 35.0 percent
from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range, was only one
rebound off from his career-high of seven rebounds. |

of the Week for the week of November 19-25.
Darnall, a 6-3, guard, averaged 13.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and
shot 43.5 percent from the field and 100 percent from the
charity stripe in two games last week. He had eight points,
including shooting 2-of-3 (.667) from three-point range in a
73-48 loss at North Park University. Then, in his first start of
the season, Darnall scored a game-high 19 points as the Red
Devils battled No. 18 Elmhurst College to a 64-51 loss.
Eureka led for the first 32 minutes
versus Elmhurst, and Darnall scored 17 of his 19 points in the
second half, which accounted for all but 10 of the Red Devils'
second half scoring. He also had two rebounds, two assists and
shot a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. |

Webster University's Ryan Turk, a junior from Aurora, Colo. (Smoky
Hill), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player
of the Week for November 16-18. Turk, a 5-9
guard, was named the Most Valuable Player at the Help the Homeless
Classic hosted by Webster University. He opened the season with a
21-point performance in the Gorloks' 70-54 victory versus Transylvania.
Turk then hit a half court shot at the buzzer to propel Webster to a
51-49 victory versus Hanover College.
In two games played, Turk averaged 15.5 points,
5.5 rebounds, dished out five assists, while also shooting 52.7 percent
from the field, including 54.5 percent from three point range, and 87.5
percent from the charity stripe.
