WESTMINSTER MEN REMAIN NO. 1 IN NATION

FULTON, Mo. - The Westminster College men's basketball squad continues to lead the nation in fewest turnovers a game among NCAA Division III teams. The Blue Jays (10-3) are averaging just 9.3 turnovers a game through games of January 20, according to the national statistics.

Westminster is ranked in five other team categories, including: 6th in fouls a game, 14; 19th in scoring defense, 60.5; 31st in assist turnover ration, 1.14; 51st in steals a game, 9.9; and 57th in won-loss percentage, 77 percent (10-3). Individually, Andrew Buxton, a 6-3 senior guard from Wildwood, Missouri (Lafayette High School), is 57th in free throw percentage at 86 percent (43/50).  

Ashley Stanfill is second nationally in field goal percentage among NCAA Division III women's players, after leading the nation during the last rating period. Stanfill, a 5-11 junior forward from Columbia, Missouri (Rock Bridge High School), is shooting 65.5 percent (76/116) from the field for a Blue Jay squad that stands 42nd nationally in field goal percentage at 43.3 percent.
