SLIAC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR NOVEMBER 16-18

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for November 16-18.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Webster University's Ryan Turk, a junior from Aurora, Colo. (Smoky Hill), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for November 16-18.

Turk, a 5-9 guard, was named the Most Valuable Player at the Help the Homeless Classic hosted by Webster University. He opened the season with a 21-point performance in the Gorloks' 70-54 victory versus Transylvania. Turk then hit a half court shot at the buzzer to propel Webster to a 51-49 victory versus Hanover College.

In two games played, Turk averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, dished out five assists, while also shooting 52.7 percent from the field, including 54.5 percent from three point range, and 87.5 percent from the charity stripe.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Westminster College's Ashley Stanfill, a junior from Columbia, Mo. (Columbia RockBridge), has been named the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 16-18.

Stanfill, a 6-0 post, recorded a double-double in the Blue Jays season-opening game versus Rhodes College. She recorded 19 points and 12 rebounds, while also adding six assists and four blocks. Stanfill was one rebound away from tallying her second double-double versus Hendrix College. She finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

In two games played, Stanfill averaged 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, dished out eight assists, had five blocks and shot 63.0 percent from the field.
