SLIAC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR MARCH 3-9

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of March 3-9.

BASEBALL-HITTER
Maryville University's Bill Allerdissen, a junior from Glencoe, Mo. (Lafayette), has been named the SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 3-9.

Allerdissen, a second baseman, had a .632 batting average in five games played last week. He went 12-for-19 at the plate with four runs scored, two doubles and two RBI. He also had one walk and recorded no strikeouts.

Allerdissen went 3-for-4 with one double and two RBI in an 8-7, extra innings loss to Gettysburg College in the Saints season opener. He went 2-for-4 with one run scored in an 8-5 victory versus Tri-State University. He then added three hits and one run in a 2-1 run versus Tri-State in game two of the double header.

SOFTBALL-HITTER
Webster University's Allie Park, a junior from Troy, Ala. (Charles Henderson), has been named the SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 3-9.

Park, an outfielder/pitcher, went 5-for-6 in two games last week at the Tucson Invitational Spring Games in Tucson, Ariz. Park recorded four RBI, three runs, two doubles and one home run to help the Gorloks to their first two wins of the season.

Park was 3-for-3 with one run, one double and one RBI in a 6-1 victory versus Kenyon College. She then collected two hits, three RBI and two runs in a 12-7 win versus Purdue North Central. Park hit what proved to be the game-winning home run in the third inning to give Webster an 8-7 lead.

SOFTBALL-PITCHER
Maryville University's Jaye O'Dell, a sophomore from O'Fallon, Mo. (Ft. Zumwalt West), has been named the SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 3-9.

O'Dell made three appearances on the mound last week and went 2-0 with one save. She posted a 2.27 ERA in 12.1 innings of action, while recording nine strikeouts.

She threw 5.0 complete innings in a 13-3 victory versus Lake Erie College. She had six strikeouts, while allowing four hits, two earned runs and two walks. O'Dell's other victory was a 10-7 win versus Chapman University. She threw 3.1 innings in relief and gave up only two hits, no earned runs and two walks, while striking out two batters. O'Dell started on the mound in Maryville's 5-4 win versus Thomas More. She threw 4.0 innings and after coming out of the game, she returned to face the final batter in the bottom of the eighth inning to record the save.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Westminster College's Abby Stuck, a junior from Boonville, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 3-9.

Stuck was 1-0 at #2 singles and 1-0 at #1 doubles to help lead the Blue Jays to a season opening 5-4 victory versus Stephens College.

Stuck partnered with teammate Dori Craighead for an 8-4 doubles victory. After all the other matches were complete and the score tied at 4-4, Stuck came back from a set down to win 6-7 (2-7), 7-5, 10-6, and give Westminster the victory.
