ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of February 11-17.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Maryville University's Aaron Steinke, a junior from Ballwin, Mo. (J.F.Kennedy), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 11-17.

Steinke, a 6-6 forward, averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two games played last week. He also shot 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the floor, as the Saints went 2-0 for the week.

Steinke netted a team-high 23 points on 9-of-15 (.600) shooting from the field and 4-of-5 (.800) from the charity stripe to lead Maryville to a 75-73 upset victory on the road at Fontbonne University. He also added five rebounds, two assists and one steal as the Saints remained in the running for the SLIAC Tournament.

Steinke recorded 14 points in Maryville's 85-74 non-conference victory versus Lincoln Christian College, marking the 13th game this season that he has scored in double figures.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Eureka College's Nicole Fisher, a senior from Canton, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 11-17. This marks the third time this season that Fisher has earned the honor.

Fisher, a 5-10 forward, averaged a double-double for the week with 20.5 points and 20.0 rebounds per game. She shot 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from the field and 65.4 percent (17-of-26) from the free throw line as the Red Devils went 1-1 for the week.

Fisher had 11 points, 21 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in a 65-59 victory versus MacMurray College. She then scored 30 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a 61-55 loss to Westminster College (Mo.). Fisher's 30 points marked her second career 30-point scoring game (had 32 vs. Knox on 11/21/06). The two double-doubles were also her fourth and fifth consecutive respectively and brought her season double-double total to 16.

Fisher's 21 rebounds versus MacMurray was one rebound off her own single-game school record of 22. She now holds the Eureka single season record with 292 rebounds.
