SLIAC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR JANUARY 21-27

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of January 21-27.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Fontbonne University's Brian Fogerty, a senior from Winfield, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 21-27.

Fogerty, a 6-4 forward, averaged 23 points and nine rebounds in two conference games last week, as the Griffins defeated Westminster College (Mo.) 62-60 and MacMurray College 86-67. He also finished 19-of-35 (.543) from the field, 8-of-10 (.800) from the charity stripe and recorded seven assists and two steals to help Fontbonne extend their current win streak to 10 games and improve to 13-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play.

Fogerty posted 22 points and eight rebounds to help Fontbonne hand Westminster their first SLIAC loss this season. He then went on to record a double-double, 24 points and 10 rebounds, in the Griffins' win versus MacMurray. Fogerty scored his 1,000th-career point in Fontbonne's victory at MacMurray. He is the eighth player in school history to reach the 1,000-career point plateau.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
MacMurray College's Abby Lowe, a junior from Harristown, Ill. (Niantic Harristown [Sangamon Valley]), has been named the SLIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 21-27.

Lowe, a 5-6 point guard, averaged 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week. She posted 19 points, five rebounds and four assists as the Highlanders defeated Lincoln Christian College 60-47 in non-conference action. She then added 20 points, six rebounds and six steals in a 76-41 conference loss to Fontbonne University.
