SLIAC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR JANUARY 14-20

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of January 14-20.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Webster University's Darin Hoggatt, a senior from Fordland, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 14-20.

Hoggatt, a 6-6 center, scored a season-high 19 points on 6-of-13 (.460) shooting from the field and 7-of-10 (.700) from the free throw line to help the Gorloks defeat Greenville College 79-56. He then scored 11 points as Webster defeated Eureka College 66-63 to remain undefeated in conference play. Hoggatt's performance versus Eureka marked the fifth time in the last six games that he has scored in double figures. He also tied his season-high for rebounds, with six boards in each game.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Maryville University's Allie Wilhelm, a junior from Wildwood, Mo. (Eureka), has been named the SLIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 14-20.

Wilhelm, a 6-2 center, averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and tallied five blocks in two games played last week. She scored 21 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had two blocks as the Saints defeated Fontbonne University, 86-45. She then scored a team-high 18 points on 6-of-12 (.500) shooting in a 76-46 victory versus MacMurray College. Wilhelm also had six rebounds, three blocks and one steal versus the Highlanders.

Maryville is the lone undefeated team in the SLIAC and currently stands at 11-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play. The Saints also extended their regular season conference win streak to 66 games with the two wins last week.
