SLIAC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR DECEMBER 31-JANUARY 6

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of December 31-January 6.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Fontbonne University's Patrick McCoy, a junior from Salem, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 31-January 6.

McCoy, a 6-0 guard, scored a season-high 28 points to held lead the Griffins to a 76-53 victory versus Blackburn College. McCoy finished 10-of-16 (.625) from the field and 8-of-13 (.615) from behind the arc, while committing only one turnover in 35 minutes on the court.

Fontbonne extended their current win streak to four games and now stands at 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the SLIAC.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Blackburn College's Lovie McClom, a sophomore from Bloomington, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 31-January 6.

McClom, a 5-5 guard, scored a career-high 19 points and helped the Beavers put together a late rally to defeat Fontbonne University 75-73. She also added five rebounds, five assists and two steals, while shooting 7-of-13 (.538) from the field and 5-of-8 (.625) from the charity stripe.

The win snapped Blackburn's 19-game losing streak versus the Griffins and improved their record to 2-8 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
