NINETY-EIGHT STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

ST. LOUIS - Ninety-eight student-athletes have been named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Academic Team. The recipients were varsity members of their school's baseball, men's golf, softball, men's tennis or women's tennis team during the Spring 2008 season. Other selection criteria include: (1) Minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, (2) At least sophomore academic standing and (3) Have at least one full year at current institution (first year transfers and true freshmen are not eligible).

Webster Golf heads to NCAA Championships
ST. LOUIS – The Webster University Men’s Golf Team heads to the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships on May 13-16 at the Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga.

MARYVILLE, WEBSTER PLACE EIGHT ON ALL-MIDWEST REGION TEAM

ST. LOUIS - Maryville University's Katie Brockmeyer and Webster University's Kelsey Washam were both named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team. Maryville's Kristen Bray, Alana Weissmueller and Webster's Dana Vahey all earned Second Team honors, while the Saints' Evelyn Drummond, Molly Duffy and the Gorloks' Maria Hibbard were named Third Team.

WEBSTER WINS SLIAC ALL-SPORTS TROPHY
ST. LOUIS – For the fourth straight year, and the eighth time since the award’s inception in 1999, Webster University has captured the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Sports Trophy.  The Gorloks amassed 90 points in 11 sports, an average of 8.18 points per sport, topping runner-up Maryville University.

BLACKBURN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL AMONG MOST IMPROVED IN NATION

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - As a result of their great strides made this year, the Blackburn College women’s basketball team has been recognized as one of the most improved teams in all of NCAA Division III for the 2007-08 season.

SLIAC ANNOUNCES 2008 SOFTBALL AWARD WINNERS
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the All-Conference Teams and award winners for the 2008 softball season. Highlighting the award winners were Webster University's Kelsey Washam and Blackburn College's Aubrey Watson. Washam led Webster to a share of the regular season conference title and was named Player of the Year. Watson, a pitcher, earned Newcomer of the Year honors after tallying 100+ strikeouts on the season.

SLIAC ANNOUNCES 2008 WOMEN'S TENNIS AWARD WINNERS
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the All-Conference Teams and award winners for the 2008 women's tennis season. Principia College swept First Team honors, with Cory Sprague earning Player of the Year. Also highlighting the award winners was Greenville College's Whitney Littrell, who was named Newcomer of the Year.

SLIAC ANNOUNCES 2008 MEN'S TENNIS AWARD WINNERS
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the All-Conference Teams and award winners for the 2008 men's tennis season. Highlighting the award winners were Maryville University's Matt Schlueter and Westminster College's Chris Claypool. Schlueter was named Player of the Year after going undefeated at #1 Singles in SLIAC regular season and tournament play. Claypool earned Newcomer of the Year honors and helped lead the Blue Jays to their third consecutive conference tournament championship.
