Maryville leads after day one of SLIAC Golf Championships
FIRST DAY RESULTS

Carlyle, Ill. – The Maryville Saints shot identical rounds of 315-315 for a two round total of 630 and holds a six shot lead over Webster University 636 (319-317) after the first day of the SLIAC Golf Championships at Governors Run Golf Club in Carlyle, Ill. Blackburn is in third place with two round score of 656 (327-329), Westminster is fourth at 674 (343-331), Fontbonne is fifth shooting a 675 (335-340) and Eureka is in sixth with a score of 677 (340-337).

Maryville’s Nick Profancik is the individual leader after the first two rounds shooting a one over par 73 in the opening round then followed that with a second round score of 75. Webster’s Brandon Glen is in second place just one shot behind at 149 (75-74) and is followed by Maryville’s Sam Carlson 156 (76-80) in third, Webster’s Juan Bernardo Proano is fourth with a score of 159 (81-78) and Fontbonne’s Josh Wideman rounds out the top five with a two round total of 160 (83-77).

The Gorloks have four players in the top 10 while the Saints are right behind them with three. Blackburn is the only other school to have multiple players in the top 10 with Chad Harrell finishing tied for sixth and Rob Jackson in eighth place.

The tournament will conclude with 18 more holes on Tuesday morning beginning at 8 a.m. at Governors Run Golf Club in Carlyle, Ill.
