WESTMINSTER TENNIS OPPONENTS SET FOR NCAA TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND

FULTON, Mo. - Both the Westminster College men’s and women’s tennis teams begin play in their respective NCAA Division III national tournaments Friday.

The Westminster women begin play Friday, May 8, at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. The Blue Jays are making their first national tournament appearance and meet Grinnell College of Grinnell, Iowa, at 2:00 p.m. Other teams in the regional are host DePauw, Manchester (Ind.), Washington U. (Mo.), and U. of Chicago. Westminster earned an automatic bid to the national tournament by winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament title. It was Westminster’s fourth women’s conference title.

The Westminster men play Friday, May 8, at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. The Blue Jays, who are making their third consecutive national tournament appearance, face Carthage College of Kenosha, Wisconsin, at 12:00 noon. Other teams in the regional are host Washington U., DePauw (Ind.) and Grinnell (Iowa). Westminster earned an automatic bid to the national tournament by winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament title. It was Westminster’s ninth conference title in the past ten years.
