WESTMINSTER'S THOMPSON NAMED STATE ATHLETIC TRAINER OF THE YEAR
FULTON, Mo. – Westminster College head athletic trainer Josh Thompson
has been named 2009 Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Missouri
Athletic Trainers’ Association. The award was presented during the
Honors and Awards Banquet of the Missouri Athletic Trainers’ Association
on June 6 at Saint Louis University.
Thompson, who is active on the conference and
state level, is currently serving a three-year term as chair of the
Governmental Affairs Committee of the Missouri Athletic Trainers’
Association. As the chair of the committee, Thompson oversees a
committee comprised of three other volunteer members, who provide the
state membership information on the areas of the organizational
constitution, ethics in athletic training, legislation and governmental
procedures. A key responsibility is working with lobbyists on issues
which impact the state membership and athletic training in the state of
Missouri.
Thompson, who attended Eugene High School and
now lives in Jefferson City, graduated from Westminster College in 2000
and earned his graduate degree at the University of Cincinnati. He
worked at Hendrix College before joining the Westminster College staff
in 2005. |
